Sales Development Manager

The Sales Development Manager will identify new prospective B2B clients, determine the needs of these prospects, and offer solutions to those needs through Traust’s IT consulting and custom software development services.

Position Summary

The Sales Development Manager will identify new prospective B2B clients, determine the needs of these prospects, and offer solutions to those needs through Traust’s IT consulting and custom software development services. As a frontline representative of our premium software consulting firm, you will be selling our first-class services to medium and large companies with multiple decision makers. You will meet or even exceed sales goals, establish long-lasting relationships with clients, and manage sales activities to produce a growing client base.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with management and marketing team to identify high priority target accounts.
  • Prospect, identify, and qualify new business opportunities through a variety of business sources.
  • Develop and maintain database of events and identify key/major events in each target market.
  • Generate your own leads.
  • Nurture accounts through strategic email, cold calling, social media, and other channels.
  • Ask effective questions to uncover the prospect’s current situation, desired situation, business drivers, application needs, and decision-making processes (either via phone, video, or face-to-face meeting) to fully understand what they need, in order to recommend the best solution.
  • Establish and build relationships with clients to become a trusted advisor.
  • Demonstrate general business acumen and understand how clients’ businesses operate, the challenges they face, and how Traust’s services impact their business.
  • Differentiate Traust from competitors by identifying key areas that are important to the prospect or client.
  • Effectively overcome objections through consultative selling in a complex environment.
  • Coordinate and drive a team-selling approach to further develop the relationship and to present more complex solutions.
  • Assist with the creation of RFP responses, proposals, quotes, sales presentations, and other content necessary to win new business.
  • Effectively use Salesforce and LinkedIn to execute daily workflows.
  • Track and maintain sales data within our Salesforce CRM system.
  • Consistently achieve/exceed our prospecting goals and average deal size.
  • Become a thought leader and participate in writing blog posts and other sales material.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of sales experience with proven success developing new accounts in a B2B environment.
  • An “outside sales” mentality and the ability to work autonomously to achieve company goals.
  • Prior experience with technology and consultative sales preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation, organization, and time management skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce or similar CRM software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics and comfort in a metrics-driven organization.
  • Comfort making cold calls, as well as strong social selling skills.
  • Ability to analyze industry trends and craft relevant messaging.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A track record of excelling in small teams.
  • Drive, flexibility, willingness to learn, and sales aptitude.
  • Strong passion for business and enthusiasm for shaping Traust’s growth.
  • Excellent customer service skills/mentality.
