Stewardship is a Traust Core Value. Traust is an active participant in the communities we serve, both through the contributions of Traust’s people and through corporate giving.
Since 2002, Traust has given a portion of our income to support education, social services, and volunteerism. Collectively, our team members have volunteered hundreds of hours to community projects and services. This commitment to stewardship is part of our legacy.
Below are some examples of our involvement in the community.
Education and Culture
Education is essential for a strong community. Communities benefit from the pursuit of education and the understanding of culture, both now and in the future. That’s why Traust supports resources and opportunities to help young minds explore and discover.
Pine Bend Association (PBA) & Foundation – College of Wilderness Knowledge
Traust is proud to be an active supporter of the programs developed by PBA and available to Scout troops or similar organizations for the purpose of learning about, valuing, and preserving the outdoor experience. Because PBA grew out of the common experience in Boy Scouting in the 1930s, their shared values of love for the outdoors, comradeship and service to youth aligns with Traust’s commitment to education and stewardship.
The programs focus on the development of life skills through conservation and community service work. Challenging projects and hard work help participants develop a work ethic, leadership skills, self confidence, team work, and a mastery of conservation skills. Through well-planned, thought-out activities and training, PBA helps youth develop into productive citizens--tomorrow's leaders.
University of Minnesota Foundation – Classical Studies (CNES) Scholarship
Traust sponsors an undergraduate College of Liberal Arts scholarship to support Classical Civilization or Classic students in study abroad as part of their further study of the classics.
Minnesota Conservation Volunteer
Traust supports conservation and careful use of our natural resources. MN Conservation Volunteer increases awareness and appreciation of our great natural resources, educates readers young and old about the wonders to be found outdoors, and informs readers with terrific writing and beautiful photography.
Social Services
To strengthen the communities we serve, we are dedicated to providing basic needs to individuals and families.
House of Charity
Traust has partnered with House of Charity since 2002 to create opportunities for positive change for individuals and families in meeting their basic needs for food and shelter while reducing barriers to their long-term self-sufficiency.
Traust Volunteers in the Community
Across the community, Traust team members volunteer and donate to charities. Volunteer activities range from making meals for the elderly and homeless to recruiting homes for pet adoption to leading and supporting Girl and Boy Scouts to participating in fundraising/sporting challenges, etc.
We are grateful to be able to provide assistance, be it physical or financial, in our community. Traust understands the relevance and importance of being involved and the positive impact it has. Contributing is a marker of Traust’s success.
